I know this post is coming a very long time after this question was posted, but... I have been inside of the E70 when working on the cosmetic restoration so many years ago. There is literally NOTHING on the inside of her. She's a DUMMY UNIT, so to speak. To make her run again would take, as E50 pointed out, considerable efforts. Not to mention someone willing to build a 3600 VDC centenary for her to run under. As for the one end being blanked out, the JR-BREAKER was indeed installed in that end. The mounting points etc... were still visible when I was last inside her. (that sounds dirty:tb-cool
I would love to see her made into a cab controller. If Amtrak can do it with F40's, then it shouldn't be too much of a problem right? Hopefully everything below hasn't seized.
Wayback Machine set?? ... then let's see what we have.... :tb-cool: WOW!! It worked!! Heheheee.... Overland Models Inc., n-scale EP4 L'il Joe E20; ready for action!! 'N' Joy... :tb-cool: P.S. - I also have sister E21.
You want the chrome grills Hemi? :tb-biggrin: E70 is looking beautiful, the MILW Little Joes are best looking electric there ever was. Chin up Ken, at least we have one and someone cares how she looks. Props to whomever is taking care of her.
LOL Ken, Montana calls me home daily, you can believe it. I know this little railroad station in Roy that needs some love, maybe the rancher will give me a good price.......mmmm, there's one in Ringling too...
OOh, if you buy Ringling, can you swing a deal for Sixteen Mile Canyon as well? I would love to see Eagle's Nest Tunnel!
Only if we go antelope hunting? Off season we can take 4 wheelers down 16 mile and shoot "buzz worms". (better go pick up that lottery ticket) LOL
What's the wabbit population like in that vicinity? I used to enjoy September in the Cascade Mtns foothills. When we could find fattened up brush bunnies. Yummy! My wife had a way of baking them, so they'd melt in your mouth. Boxcab E50
Ken, of course you are coming along, that goes with out saying, your spouse as well, my wabbit cooking skills stayed with my grandfather. Hemi, I know where there is a E78 with your name on it, unfortunately wrong scale and price. Maybe you should pick up a lotto ticket as well. :tb-shocked: E78
MMMmmm... Speedgoats! They make the best chili! I wonder if any trolley remnants are still in the canyon? There was plenty up on Pipestone.
