Hoping to indentify an old paper in my collection. Can anyone tell me the correct name for a station that looks like "Wovelburg?" I have nothing as reference. Handwriting is hard to decipher. Boxcab E50
Well, I'll try: Williamsburg (up by Traverse City) Ferrysburg (north of Grand Haven) Wellsboro (in Indiana south of La Porte) Walkerville (over in Canada east of Detroit)
I'll try to have that part scanned and posted a bit later today. I wonder if it was a town name which was changed, many long years ago? Boxcab E50
Yes. As you probably know, now, Woodbury is between Lansing and Grand Rapids on the PM. The June 1916, Official Guide of the Railways shows 3 daily stops westbound and 2 eastbound. Also on the Chicago, Kala. & Saginaw. Scott
Hi Scott- Now that I have the name, I can see it more clearly. Beforehand, I was only certain of W-------. The "bury" looked more like "burg." Some of those operators hand wonderful writing skills. Some, you can only wonder how crews didn't have more accidents. This one isn't bad. But my lack of familiarity with that line, and possible station names, sure hampered the process. Boxcab E50
