Here are some serious railfan photographers doing what they do best last weekend at the McCloud River RR. Martin Hansen, Nils Huxtable, Lloyd Palmer and John Fisher.
Jim, what the heck were they trying to capture...close to the mainline? Mike Cassidy Santa Clarita, CA
Mike, This was a photographer's special, and we "owned the train" for the day. At this point, the train was stopped at Bartle next to an old water tower, and the guys were actually shooting the crew in front of the locomotive and the conductor throwing a switch. That would explain the photo in the grade. See "New Adventure" in the Steam, Railfan and Railroad section.
Here is a cross-reference to a similar thread, "Railfans at Work," in the More than Trains forum. http://www.trainboard.com/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=22;t=000053
Thanks Peirce, I had forgotten about that one. If you want, you can move these to that forum. I guess we need to get Paul or Charlie to do that.
