Attempted to upload five pictures, 640KB each, dial up connection. After I hit the "Upload/Submit" button, the "Processing Upload...Please Wait!" message appeared for 16 minutes. Afterthat, the error message appeared. I never saw the pictures in the upload directory. Here is the error message at the top of the screen: Warning: move_uploaded_file(/tmp/phpC12ojI) [function.move-uploaded-file]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/frisco/public_html/railimages/image-inc.php on line 48 Warning: move_uploaded_file() [function.move-uploaded-file]: Unable to move '/tmp/phpC12ojI' to '/home/frisco/public_html/railimages/uploads/1419/CIMG0179.JPG' in /home/frisco/public_html/railimages/image-inc.php on line 48 Then the RI logo appears and in a reply-type shaded box is the message: Unable to move file [/tmp/phpC12ojI] [/home/frisco/public_html/railimages/uploads/1419/CIMG0179.JPG] CIMG0179 is the file name of the first picture I tried to upload.
Attempted to upload one picture, 680KB, dial up connection. After I hit the "Upload/Submit" button, the "Processing Upload...Please Wait!" message appeared for four minutes. The upload was successful. I only put the picture in one album. Picture here:
Is dial-up the common link? In re-reading this topic, noting that some folks have no problems whatsoever, while some of us seem to have a constant problem, especially with more than one photo, it seems that being on dial-up seems to be the common link of those having the problem. If the software vendor is trying to find the problem using a broadband connection, he may never find what is causing it. Suggest you ask him to try using dial-up. I am considering getting a DSL connection, but if my ISP, the only one in my area, gives lousy dial-up service, how do I know DSL will be any better for more money?
Thirdrail, I'm on a blazingly fast broadband connection--there are few users out here in the boonies of Albuquerque--and I've had occasional problems uploading multiple images. Usually that's when I've spent quite a while writing descriptions for the images. In my case, that's because something is timing-out and disconnecting. I frankly don't know where the disconnect is. It could be my browser. It could be my ISP somewhere between my computer and Trainboard. And it could be Trainboard itself, although I doubt that. My workaround is to load a max of three pictures at a time under one working title, and not enter descritions until I'm sure the images are in my album. It's a bit clunky, but at least I don't lose any text and, in case of a time-out, it's not that hard to re-establish a connection. I know that's not an answer, nor a solution. I know the more technical people on our staff are working hard to figure it out. I think your suggestion of trying it on dial-up was a very good one.
15 April 2007; dial up connection. Uploaded one picture, 682 KB; no problem. Attempted to upload another single picture, 678 KB, upload failed with the usual message. First at the top of page: Warning: move_uploaded_file(/tmp/phpgZHPSM) [function.move-uploaded-file]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/frisco/public_html/railimages/image-inc.php on line 48 Warning: move_uploaded_file() [function.move-uploaded-file]: Unable to move '/tmp/phpgZHPSM' to '/home/frisco/public_html/railimages/uploads/1419/CIMG0200.JPG' in /home/frisco/public_html/railimages/image-inc.php on line 48 Then further down: Unable to move file [/tmp/phpgZHPSM] [/home/frisco/public_html/railimages/uploads/1419/CIMG0200.JPG] So, a single upload doesn't always work either.
I've been getting the same error message as Flash. Multiple images - 5 or more generally fail the first time. I haven't been able to get a full 10 to go through the first time for the last week. 3 images usually gets through first or second attempt. I'm on ADSL too.
James, Thanks. We need to have you post the error message so we can see the affected directories. Yours was probably a bit different than the one Flash posted. Charlie
Charlie, This is the same message I get when trying to upload two or more images. It will upload one at a time though.
Thank you Lee but we still need the exact message posted here or these posts do not help. Chances are the directories indicated are different. Charlie

Lee I just up loaded the picture to my MISC Album at http://www.trainboard.com/railimages/showgallery.php?cat=818 I did not get an error, now not that it helps your issue, it went up without any problems.
Humm! Very interesting! So what's going on here? You can and I can't. I do not understand I can sometimes load one picture but not several, Then I can not upload any then I can.
Lee, are you attaching them directly? I don't know what we need screenshots.... just the error text. Charlie
