Caught today, NS 18D in Columbia, SC. This is a daily train loaded with new BMWs in the upstate and headed to the Port of Charleston. I wanted to capture a train by the old distant signal with the fishtail-shaped blade affixed to its mast.
Classic CSX YN2 AC4400CW’s leading CP B39 on Groundhog Day 2022. This train didn’t see its shadow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That old industrial building in the background is really neat. One can just make out some of the original painted-on signage like "Virginia Sweet" and "Seavey and Flarshey"(?). It reminds me a bit of the Kingsley Building in Binghamton, NY. That's a great modeling project!
I think it says "Flarsheim". Here is a screen capture from Google Street View. Omaha Oklahoma City St.Louis St.Joseph Wichita? is all jumbled together. Kind of a puzzle to figure out. Modern windows in that building for sure. The "West Bottoms" area of Kansas City is fun to tour on Street View. There are a lot of cool building if you go up and down each street.
I like it when they rejuvenate and repurpose old buildings instead of tearing them down. I think the second one down is "Grocery Brokerage & Storage". Down
