Taken from the rear vestibule of the short-lived Amtrak Gulf Coast Limited, July 1996. The trackage is CSX, ex-L&N New Orleans & Mobile Division. This nearly 6-mile-long causeway and 9-span bridge system has almost 15 miles of Louisiana and Mississippi swamps at either end. Makes for an interesting nature ride if you're into swamps. cypress trees, fishing camps, and alligators.
