Here is a new decal manufacturer who has some great N scale decals. I just orderd the FURX decals for an SD40-2 I will be doing after I get some current projects done. http://MGDecals.com/homepage.htm Check it out!
Hi Craig The topic of FURX locos came up recently on the n_scale group at Yahoo. I'll email you some links to FURX SD40-2 photos I found. In addition to the Highball Graphics page you mentioned, check out the many many decal links (both top and bottom of webpage) on Bill Mosteller's website at this URL http://www.greatdecals.com/ eNjoy DB

That's my site, known as the Alstom Rebuild Program site. I'm trying to collect a photograph of all of these units, 3000-3152. Got over 40 of them so far.
Corey Thanks for the link to your FURX page. Great FURX resource which I have bookmarked I did a basic search at Google on "FURX" and found the following photos (among others) I think it gave a hit for your site (not sure) but as I recall the server was temp down that day and I moved on to other links. Your page is certainly the best one I have seen. Here is an excerpt I posted at n_scale/Yahoo in response to the question "What color is FURX green?". I did not try to send out a detailed history on the entire FURX fleet. ===== Have not seen these leased units on the west coast FURX3000-3049 leased by First Union to CSX for 3 years Did find some on line photo links for you ========= FURX 3009 http://www.h2obugs.com/leases/furx/furx3009.htm ======= FURX3040 http://www.fortunecity.com/westwood/vivienne/438/leasefurx3040.jpg ======== FURX 3047 http://www.fortunecity.com/westwood/vivienne/438/leasefurx3047.jpg ======== eNjoy DB
Thanks for the compliments. As for the FURX green, it is close to BN Cascade Green, but is not as dark. If you check out this photo (FURX leading and ex-BN leaser) you can see the slight shade variation. It's going to have to be a custom mix, not any RR color I know of! Corey and Craig FURX is a leasing subsidiary of First Union, the 6th largest banking system in the USA I went to the First Union website at http://www.firstunion.com and looked up the source code for the green on their homepage, which should be a 256-bit approximation of the FURX loco green The HTML hex code for the green is 009933 Then, go to this HTML utility page http://www2.swau.edu/~mssever/html/color_utility.htm Input the 009933 code and it should display an entire page of the First Union green It was fun researching this........ eNjoy DB
