BNSF had it and now UP will have a so called heritage scheme. On my railroad the SP has a true heritage scheme on an AC4400. Looks good on the big loco. A little bit of tiger stripped switcher with a little bit of the black widow. the silver nose even reminds me of the steamers that had silver or white smoke box door. Camera work needs to improve, but I'm working on it !!
SHARP! I like it, but I fear Uncle Pete may find it's too dark, with all that black, and do something to make it more visible. maybe Daylight colors?
I always love a good fantasy! Of course I'm partial to the wide cabs, regaurdless of the color scheme. The tiger stripes seem a little out of place on a big road dog like that but hey, it's your world, have fun! Wonder how one would look in Kodachrome?
SP only used Tiger Stripes on switchers, but it still looks great! I love the Black Widow wings on the front!
Wow! That does look nice. I like that better for SP than I do the MP/WP for those respective railroads. Better send it to UP. It is certainly no more complicated than the current ones.
Thanks for the comments guys. Send it to UP? NO WAY ! They would probably sue me for infringing on their logo. Funny thing - this model was in Utterley Pathetic colors before my paint job.
Hah! I LOVE it!!!! One of the many beauties of being CEO of our own railroads is the reversal of ugly prototype decisions! Patch!? Patch!? We don't need no stinking patch!!!! Nice work, Carl!
BEEE-yooo-ti-ful! Always did love Espee AC's (AC-6, AC7, AC-12, etc. ) Best thing since the SD45T-2 in UP paint with an SP patch! Love it!
Carl, Maybe you should be getting royalties from Uncle Pete! http://www.uprr.com/newsinfo/railroad/2005/0730_heritage.shtml
