TrainBoard Search Help

Fellow TrainBoarders!

In light of some of the gremlins that have been cropping up in our native search tool lately, I thought I'd post a tip that you may find useful for your searches on TrainBoard. For years I've supplemented my TB searches with Google when looking for something specific on the site. For example, if you'd like to search for "frame rot" topics in TrainBoard, type this in the Google search bar:
"frame rot" site:trainboard.com

In some ways, Google's search can be more helpful because of the images included in the search results. We realize that doesn't solve the glitches in our search plugin, but hopefully that will help some of you find what you're looking for when our search tool is misbehaving.

By the way this syntax also works on most other search engines like Bing, DuckDuckGo, Yahoo, etc.
