I will get this thread going early this week to make up for being late next week. I should be back on the grid about mid day on Friday the 16th. Some T&NO Cadillacs here.

Enjoying the sunshine and warmer conditions here in the Low Country, but missing running trains and working on the home layout back up North. I hear there is not yet even 2' of total snowfall in the Syracuse area so far this winter. Not like 20 years ago when that was a typical January week. A few pictures from my photo library to stir the memory.

I've always been taken with the interest created by this bustling factory complex. The multiple buildings, curving spurs and intermingling of rail and truck traffic create a scene that draws the viewer in. There is much to study here. One of my favorites. The other two scenes aren't too shabby either. All in all a very "rich" landscape.

Working on a Walthers single stall engine house. This is HO scale, but to get the impressive RIO GRANDE, I had to go with an O scale boxcar decal from Microscale...
There's Kevin, just getting ready to go home.

Recently painted SP 3005 stops at the station for a photo op. Was previously numbered 5623 wearing the Black Widow paint scheme.

Thank you for the compliments. Here's a better picture of the complete complex. It's (loosely) based on the old AGFA/Ansco plant in Binghamton, NY. It was taken over by GAF during WW2 (AGFA was a German company), then became International Paper in the 80's. The tall structure is kitbashed from two Walther's George Roberts Printing kits. This was a building where emulsions for film and paper coating were made and piped to the rolling mills that applied the coatings.

The entire complex was demolished in 2000. I worked there for a while during the 90's managing several industrial renovation projects. A very interesting place.

Family vacation in the mountains. Most of the equipment has been loaded into the station wagon, while the camper will be home for the next two weeks.... Mom and the girls are in the wagon, dad and the boys are in the truck. They'll rendezvous in the campground.

I had similar vehicles. The Camper Truck didn't have the onboard camper. It pulled a pop up and it wasn't a Chevy wagon. Instead I had a '73 Pinto Salesman Wagon. Most of the time I traveled with a girl friend. The wife and daughter left me when I returned from Viet Nam.
