Good morning from sunny and cold Northeast Ohio!

I managed to get another couple of cars done this week!

First up is an IMRC PS1 40' Boxcar with a 7' Door, painted with Scalecoat II Boxcar Red Paint and lettered with K4 Decals. The Buffalo Creek railroad was started by the Erie and Lehigh Valley Railroads to serve the grain elevators and flour manufacturers in Bufallo, NY. They had serveral hundred cars from Pullman Standard and ACF in that service, all were lined to keep insects and other vermin away from the bags of flour, these cars could be found nationwide.

Next up a Walthers 89' piggyback flatcar, painted with Scalecoat II UP Hopper Gray and Reefer Orange Paints, then lettered with Herald King Decals. Several small railroads joined in the IPD movement in the late 70's purchasing 89' flats to avert a car shortage. Many of these cars ended up on major railroads when the IPD boom vanished. I loaded the flat with a couple of 40' vans that I recently finished.

Last week, I took my Athearn NKP GP9's to the club for a little running time. Here they are pulling a gereral frieght on the Strongsville, OH Club layout.

I'm sorry the current state of passenger locomotive design does not do anything for me, give me an old E unit, I even the F40 and SDP40 look good by comparison.

    Thanks for looking!

Wizard in the Woods receives an old but not worn out railcar for a wheelset and coupler swap. The usual FRA inspections will also be completed before its placed back in service.

Etched side horse car. Land sakes! I'll have to give the Charger some props for looking better. Heat and desolation. Sharp BL-2! Gotta' love a plain boxcar. Looks like helium hauler.

I built super detailed painted these over a couple years, the DD35 was bashed out of 2 RTR Athearn shells and a highly modified Athearn chassis/trucks.
Seen below, pulling away from us and throttling up for the 2% climb just ahead.

Well, the Hostlers model railroad club held their train show this weekend. I was there, and picked up this 2001 offering from Athearn. It's an IH CASE starter set.

No trains but here is the city scene thus far with some vehicles that I had easy access to (aka laying out on the layout).

I don't know if this is widely known in North America, but this locomotive made by Siemens is a derivative of the Br.193 Vectron that is widely used across Europe in both Diesel, Electric, and Dual Mode.

That's a great looking model Michael. I did know it was based on a European prototype but not which one. That's good info. Thank you for sharing that.
