Let's get this party started! We'll start with a bit more of my trip to Minnesota Transportation Museum in Jackson Street Roundhouse. An ex-GN SD7: The SD7's birth certificate--I wonder if the identity thieves can use it to create a credit card for themselves? Get plowed! An NP wood caboose: And not far from the museum is a local tourist trap, Minnehaha Falls. The Milwukee Road had a depot here, today it is preserved:
From 08/20/1988 at LaGrange, GA. SD-40 8398 has been quite the boomer, former WM, then Chessie, CSX, Utah and EJ&E! LaGrange is located close to the AL state line in central GA where the A&WP crossed the ACL. It remains an important spot for CSX, though the brick depot and express building are gone today.
A nice original Chessie Sir Hardcoaler! Here's a former Chessie, now CSX but is trying to relive it's glory days
I had to dig deep to find a kitty in my collection. I took this one at Clifton Forge, Virginia in July of 1991.
Oh, you captured some real gems! That little depot is really nice. Back then, CSX had some heritage units! Nice shot. I love cats.
Last Tuesday, 9/05. It's rare to see two NS Dash 9's leading anymore, as many have been rebuilt into AC44C6M's. Rarer still these days are the 3 narrow cab units trailing on NS30A at Wernersville, PA, including an ex-EL SD45-2. There were also some gnarly structural steel loads on the pin.
This repurposed reefer has been begging me to take a picture or three for a while. It is at a now closed machine shop,
