Finally was able to finish some cars this past week to go with a new month! This is an ECW 1958CF ACF Covered Hopper Kit with added airlines and new A-Line Sill Steps. The Ann Arbor leased 100 Cars from Chicago Freight Car in 1978 for use in hauling sand from Yuma, MI to the Ford Engine Plant in Cleveland. Cars were a mishmash of ACF, Greenville, and Pullman Starndard of the same design. Painted with Scalecoat II MOW Gray and lettered with Herald King Decals. This is an Atlas 3510CF ACF Covered Hopper, the PC Inherited these cars from both the PRR & NYC, this one happens to be an EX PRR Class H44 Car. Painted with Scalecoat II MOW Gray and lettered with Highball Graphics Decals. This is an Accurail 4600CF ACF Covered Hopper, carved off the cast on Roofwalk and replaced with an Plano Roofwalk along with the Cross Over Platform. Added Airlines and new A-Line Sill Steps. Car was one of twenty the Hillsdale County tacked onto a ROCK order and was painted in ROCK Blue. The Hillsdale County was formed from an Ex-PC line when Conrail was formed. Painted with a mixture of Floquil Big Sky Blue & White Paint. Lettered with Herald King Decals. Thanks for looking! Rick J
Been playing with a rechargeable LED flood Not a great shot, but it was a test for colour and to see how sharply it shows shadows. Have to say I'm impressed with the light. and a Vermont Rail GP38-2 is a new addition to the fleet P.S. Meant to add, Russell those pics look outstanding at full size.
Very crisp photos and modeling. I especially like the VW Beetle. That light is nice for photography. I've got to improve my layout lighting. Thanks for posting this.
Jim here's the light It can be set dead level, or tilted upwards but not downwards, so it's a little awkward to set up on the layout. I suspect there's something more suited to layouts 'out there' but it's still good. I simply made a tower out of boxes for it to sit on, then raised the back to angle it down. It would work well upside down
Mikel, fantastic as usual and great VRS addition, love the red!! The Sugarland looks as great as ever. A "throw away shot:"
I got this in the mail yesterday. It's a Kato Series 500 Nozomi Shinkansen. I love how the cab is shaped like the canopy of a jet fighter. It runs beautifully, but the coupling system is a little finicky and it took me a few to get everything connected so I could operate it.
Oh, yeah! I bet she'll hit the prototype 300 k/ph! But, it'll do a pretty good slow speed crawl, too.
