Three nice shots. I especially like the pics showing the expanse of the layout. Here is a shot from the recent Del Mar show with the ladder of a large though yard in the foreground with a staging (set up/tear down) yard in the background. I liked this set up, but we had difficulty with a connection so we could not use it as a classification yard. Many more details will come to the engine facility, and that scratch built tower replicates the tower that once stood in the middle of the ATSF San Bernardino yard. Another member built the tower and the engine shed is two kits that I built as one unit.
Nice photos guys. Shame we don't have a few more. SD35 with freight. Atlas Gold loco. Such a smooth performer. Running on my NCE Powercab.
Mike, you sure have a very realistic way of modeling scenery, structures and trains. My hats off to you. Tonight I added some more scenery and vehicles around the depot at Brownwood, MO. Here's a couple of photos.
That's really cool. The AMC Pacer pretty much steals the show. Just kidding, I like it all. The weeds along the building show great attention to everyday detail.
Well. I don't have any scenery. BUT I have started making progress on building out my train-room. I mounted some cars today at 50" above the floor to check the height. Worked out well. Room is ready for insulating now and then sheetrock.
I'm right there with ya! No scenery, but I'm finally getting some things done on my layout. This thread always gives me inspiration to get something done.
Candy, your scenes are all so perfect that I'm hesitant to even mention this. However, AMC produced the Pacer from 1975 through 1980. But for the fact that the Pacer is a neat looking car, it conflicts with your 1950's theme....sorry.
Love that street scene, Candy. And where did you get the Pacer? I haven't seen one before, and judging by the production times it would be right at home on my layout. Mike
