Russell, let's not get personal with that "oldy" comment as I can relate to that. Oops, that's a different thread.

Here is one I have never posted. One of the gosh awful KATO paint jobs along with an IM and one of my own. Don't look too bad together .................

Got home this morning (I work nights) and decided to run some trains now that the layout is somewhat operational. Some of the locomotives that I have I've never run. Here's my small steamers just for a size comparison. Let me say that Kato D51 2-8-2 runs like a Swiss watch, just smooth as silk!

    Jason,

Yes diesels. You know, that's better than nothing. I agree at least one AC-9. BTW, I broke down, although skeptical, and ordered an EM-1 today. I hope the guys who claim B'mann quality, for steamers, is now at top level are correct. I shall see.

As far as steamers go, the ones I have that operate with Tsunami sound almost flawlessly, are my all time fav the KATO GS-4 and the IM AC-9 and the goofy Key Challenger that is outdated but maybe it will run now because I put the original motor back in and a DZ125. I should finish tomorrow so I can test it next Wednesday. If nothing else, I have learned a great deal on installing my own Tsunami's and speakers and learning about LED's. Not a total loss and a lot of fun.

One of the things I 'finally' got done was to install my Richmond Controls flasher circuit for my Classic Metals Works police cruiser.

So.... with alternating headlights and a 70's style gumball .... "Welcome to Winslow!" ..... right on Rt. 66.....

The CMW's took a lot of grinding and drilling to get the rooftop gumball LED mounted - which is scale size - and to grind out the headlight areas for the surface-mounted LED's to be inside the grille instead of on the outside. The board is underneath in the scenery with only the LED wires going into the car itself. Troopers are Woodland Scenics.

By the way, the lighting and strobe package on the SD45's is Richmond Controls as well.

Randy, that looks great, but you need another guy in the passenger seat of that Vette....and see if anyone else gets the TV reference.

I'm guessing that you're speaking of Route 66. lol Right in my age bracket! If it was in LA, it could be Drake's Vette from Perry Mason.

Russell's Sugar Land modules are 20 years old last month. They have been to a lot of train shows. Maybe we should have a module birthday celebration thread.

I will post to this thread eventually. Train show last weekend and grand kids this week. But I will post.

Not bad. Having a good time. This is the way Russell and I look when we run trains.

Flash - you and Russell turn into little girls?;)

And Chris, I'm really impressed with the scenery, especially that second shot through the autumn woods. Beautiful!
