Mark, I have to say that the layout looks great. One thing that stands out is the consistency in the scenery. From colors, foliage, ballast, weathering on anything. You have been able to tie it all together in a very convincing manner. I always enjoy the photos and videos. Thanks for sharing it all with us.

You are most welcome. I learn a lot from the great and creative modellers on these forums so it is my hope that I can give something back by sharing what I learn in return.

I haven't posted a new image in about two years, but I am making headway on a new layout with a large mountain and spiral tunnel. There is a helix in there with a 2% grade about 6 feet in diameter.

These are not meant to be fine or representative...they're for pointing out to me what my eyes don't see when I look at the scene. I mean things that are out of place, the wrong colour, or that need some kind of attention to look right. First is a Canadian Pacific 2-10-4 passenger engines emerging from a stone portal while it drifts down the grade.

Next is a Pennsy I1sa chuffing up a grade, also emerging from a concrete portal.

I, for one, think the pictures look pretty good, Crandell. I've always liked your scenes of steamers coming out of your tunnels. They make me glad I'm not riding in an an open excursion car in the tunnel behind them.

For me, I'll take a windswept deck on the high seas. Failing that, I'll move some freight on a carfloat.

This is the Walthers model. They've still got the whole shebang in stock - the carfloat, apron, tugboat and some dockside stuff as well. I've had a lot of fun with this stuff over the past year and a half it's taken me to build it. The crew is German - Preiser guys called "Carfloat and Tugboat Crew" or something like that.

Tune in next week to see how it looks with a layer or two of Envirotex to wet your whistle. Love that dirty water...

One of the guys in our club just brought a car float model to the club. It is a really nice kit. I'll check to see if they make it in N scale.
