Welcome to the Halloween edition of WFF. Nothing too scary please, at least until Monday.:we2-jimlad: Here are some cars I modified and painted up for my N scale Sunset Limited train set. The Pride of Texas Coffee Shop Lounge and Audubon Diner on the left started out as old Rowa cars and the French Quarter Lounge on the right is a modified Con Cor diner. Under body details are from American Limited core kits.
Did somebody say Halloween ....................... That is spooky ! ! ! ! Lugly aint it. Now here is a beauty .................... Here's another looker .........................
I've been working on these items this week:Front Range 'Shorty' covered hopper. Busch Airstream trailer. Enjoy it's luster while it lasts. It'll soon be dull and dusty. Completely rebuilt a Proto 2000 E6 chassis and turned it into an E7. Tyco Campbell's Beans covered hopper.
Heres some oldies to tie you guys over. the NMRA swapmeet and show in Colorado Springs is tomorrow so I'll get some new shots for you guys then. 2 High Hood Southern SD40's idle awaiting work at the Miami Valley Modular group in Columbus Ohio. A steel mill on the home layout of a member from the Parkersburg model railroad club. An impress feat he did in such a small space. A UP MOW train at Caliente CA at the La Mesa Model Railroad club in San Diego California. Still counts as a model right? its not 1:1 Scale! Me driving our old 7 1/2 inch scale switcher. Was loosely based on D&RGW #50. Enjoy everyone, and to quote a famous person "I'll be back!"
Last week I posted some in process photos of a couple of ExactRail PS4427 kits. Now I have the finished products. The are cars purchased by the Andersons of Maumee, OH. They used to run past my house between the elevator in Maumee and the Grain Terminal in Toledo, OH. Color is a Green/Blue Gray and the decals are by Herald King. I used to drive by the Monfort Feed Lots and Beef Processing Plant in Greeley when I lived in Loveland, CO on various trips, so I had to have one of these cars. Painted with Floquil Primer and lettered with Oddballs Decals. Thanks for Looking! Rick J
Build Date? Rick J.: Great pictures of you very nice cars. Your fleet must be large by now. Would you know the build date for those covered hopper cars? I am thinking about getting one or two Accurail kits in H0 scale. Thanks.
The Monfort Car was built in 1965 and the paint scheme was still the same in the 1990's. The Anderson's car was originally leased by another user and was acquired by the Anderson's and repainted in 1974. They later lost the placard in pictures I have seen in the 1990's. Rick
