HO scale model of a D&H 4-8-4, made by Nickel Plate. (with a little smoke added with Paint Shop Pro ) All D&H fans and modelers are welcome ...any scale...any era.
Let's see how photo's work.... A higer resolution shot of the same locomotive. 100k is the max image size for a thumbnail post? This thumbnail is 85.2k. The large image is 1085k. I guess that 1000k is a good size if you want to show some detail. Dave
Nice One Dave!!!!!!! You got the hang of things on your first post...
Yahoo! Topics loaded I've started getting some of the most recent topics copied over. Just click on the links below to get to that topic here within TrainBoard now. Hey Welcome to TrainBoard Geoff and Dave, Glad to see some more of those beautiful Blue and Grays' roll in here! How about any photos? We love photos and experiences! Maybe some of your buddies would enjoy visiting too. We wont even charge admission.
This may be heresy but since blue is my favorite color, I've alway liked the D&H PAs better than the Santa Fe units.
PA-1's I have very strong memories of the PA-1's....including the insides. Thats me in the cab of #17 in 1974. Seeing your model has prompted me to pull out my own PA's and run them in a freight.
Word .doc test / Daves video stills A test to see if we can post MS Word documents. Post in "advanced mode"...."Manage Attachments"... Browse...... Upload file. I got an "Upload Error".....19.5KB is the largest .doc file they will allow, which pretty much limits the use of any inserted images in a document. Later, I tried uploading directly into my photo album and got: "The file you uploaded was not an acceptable format.: Dave_video_stills.doc" Just so I wont keep you guys guessing....this is what I was trying to post. ( I copied and pasted text directly from the .doc file and uploaded one of the images seperately) Dave’s Video Stills As cool as video can be, the resolution leaves much to be desired. I was an early adopter of video cameras, and have hours of D&H action on video. Sometimes, I shot slides at the scene as well, but looking back to those last few years of the D&H, I wish I had taken more slides than video. Here are some examples:
Welcome to TrainBoard Dave4664! Is there a way you can experiment with changing the photo's file type from a .doc to a .gif or .jpg? Maybe that might work?
Dave, Yes, the "DOC" method is not a good solution in this format so I would suggest you post each image and include the text you want about that image within the post itself. Most people I think would truly enjoy viewing the images within the posts themselves and not open a MS-Word document that could be very large; let alone the risk of viruses that might turn people away from opening it. By posting the images you will have a running topic that people can comment on and the complete string of replys will all be togther in one place. To me this format is os much better than Yahoo! email mesasges with hyperlinks that may not work after the email server messes with each post. Thoughts / Concerns?
