It only slowed down for the wealthy and big business. Of course I'm not either of those but still pay fewer taxes. Only sales.

This guy must run a garage and has his kids helping with his float for a parade. I wonder if he borrowed one of his pumps from the station to put on his float.

I like his truck. Looks really solid. :)

He shouldn't corner too fast with all that on the "float"... some people will get some free lube oil cans as a bonus for attending the parade...:sneaky:

I well remember my father pulling into a station, having the hood popped and fluid levels checked quickly. And the old blue paper towels drying off our windshields. As a youth I participated in doing these chores for many years, at my local stations. Until the Fed stuck it's nose in and wrecked the process. Which most people don't even know was the reason all of this changed....

Yet with all the Fed did there are still stations where you can't pump your own gas. :sneaky:

Those are State laws. Unrelated to what I was referencing.

I read something last summer that was talking about them at least partially rescinding that "law". Now I wonder if they actually did so....

In Noo Joisey, they're more abrupt. "Hey, Getta Away From Da Pump!" I was told later it had to do with a law protecting the station attendant union.

I had heard about Nor Joisey's law and how nasty they can get. First I've heard of other states. But then I rarely travel far. But one Mobil station in Wisconsin refused to let me fill up my Honda Gold Wing motorcycle for fire safety.
