Attached is a gif drawing that I scaned and was wondering if somebody would be willing to convert it to a XTrkCad drawing? I am using Atlas C55 track with Atlas #5 switches (turnouts) in the yard and #7 on the mainline. The curved switches (turnouts) will be hand made, but you could use Pecos for the drawing. The L shape size in the gif is 7'-3 x 8'-9" and my size is 8'-0" x 12'-0". The reason why I am asking for help is that I just had a cornea transplant and having a real hard time seeing to lay this out.
I hope I'm not too late here, but I just saw this today and want to offer a simple change that will return huge results. Kill the switch-back by simply branching those two stubs directly off the main line on the opposite side of the oval. This gives you direct access to those two tracks and eliminates the needed switch-back, which as shown in the original is too short for more than the loco plus maybe 2 cars max. Not only that, your switch-back lead becomes its very own industry stub!
Mark - Thanks for the great idea. I was going to layout that area on my benchwork today. Going to make this change. Will post the new track layout in my progress thread - http://www.trainboard.com/grapevine/showthread.php?t=117589 Craig
