I have an HO Atlas AEM-7 and I was wondering if the Digitrax SDN144PS would be a good decoder for it?

Is your unit dcc ready or not.... I have a list of decoders for this engine but the one you posted is not on my list. for dcc and sound I have the sdh164d. This is from the digitrax app on my phone.

The reason I am thinking of this smaller decoder is because there is really no room for a large HO decoder. The board pretty much sits all the way to the top of the shell and there is a hole in the top of the shell covered by a box that has access to the 8 pin board where a decoder would go. I am just not sure how big this decoder is although I believe it could fit under the box on the top of the shell. I am not at home and won't be until monday. I can post a picture of it then if that would help. This one is from the Atlas website. As you can see there is a small black box on the roof between the pantographs. Under this is a small space and a hole going into the shell where the decoder pin/plug on the board is. That is where I am thinking I can put that small sound decoder but not quite sure if it will fit. I hope that I am explaining this well. I know that it can sometimes be hard to see what I am talking about. View attachment 52176 Here is the web address too.

Here are the diagrams from the instruction sheet showing the circuit board and where the box on top of the shell goes. Hope this helps!
