This is not my actual loco...my wife has the camera...but this is the exact item. Graham Farish Class 40 40141 in BR blue - DCC sound fitted. It's very good looking, and the sound is impressive for such a little thing.
Like steam, I see European locos as a slippery slope. I do my best to ignore them but, dang, some of them sure do look cool!
Soon as I hear back, I'm gonna pull the trigger on a pair of custom Rio Grande GP30's. DCC and a few added details, including working Mars light! Saw video of said units, and they are nice!
Recieved notice that locomotives have been checked out, and all is good. Payment sent. Might have by end of the week, depending on when they’re shipped out.
Just received some new rolling stock. The back track has my new set of 4 MTL N scale Civil War era boxcars and the front track sports my new MTL Nn3 boxcar. I need to get some track layed!
Bought a very vintage Kato TGV Sud Est off eBay. I've wanted one for as long as I can remember, and when one popped up over the holidays I snatched it up!
I just purchased a Walthers 130' DCC turntable, a Woodland Scenics built and ready post office, and some Detail Associates flashers. I'll probably need some advice on installing the turntable - it will be the center piece of my L shaped layout.
Received a few recent purchases I made (more in following threads) Technically I bought this a little while ago but just got around to finishing a building to put the stuff in-Nice Work from ShapeWays Ngineer. The beginning assembly on sprue prep and paint After painstaking micro painting-glad that's done, had to go buy new pinpoint paint brush
Couple of badly needed tools. Needed some better light for micro work on the workbench I have some pin vise but not this small...finally
My First purchase of military items for train loads, one of the shops I like to buy form online had well over a hundred of these and in about a weeks time = POOF! I managed to get 3 I need to add some detail to the flats that would secure the load, I have some details but had not got that far yet.
Pair of Rio Grande GP30's arrived in mail today. Custom done, cab shades, snow plow and working Mars light added. Photos and maybe a quick video Thursday sometime. Bedtime! Up since 4:30ish AM.
They're out of my era (they were out-of-service by the early 1960s), but I just couldn't resist these Peter Witt Los Angeles Railway streetcars with onboard factory-DCC, on sale for $44.99: I also just ordered my first BLI loco (AC6000 with a Paragon 3 sound decoder), so that I can try out my also-just-ordered Rolling Thunder wireless receiver/sub-woofer! Also ordered two more Dynamis handsets and another IR-receiver for my Dynamis Ultima DCC system, on sale at 10%-off: Will post some actual photos (and audio clips?) when I get all this in!
Ten DPDT toggle switches from an online supplier, to build a DC dual-throttle block control panel for my new Unitrack N layout. Most dead-end spurs rely on Kato power-routing turnouts to take power from whichever block connected. I am just about at the point where much more layout complexity and even I, old-timer that I am, might have gone to DCC.
Some Athearn's and Micro-Train cars and some internal items for a future Restaurant scratch kit, didn't realize these Model Tech Studios guys had 3D print items like this.
