Had some more Unitrack arrive today and a new/used MRC 1730 power pack. No too exciting but enough to let me start on my T Trak module
Ordered these yesterday and got them today. I also have a Kato M2 track on order. I'm getting started again. Sorry the picture isn't clear. I have to use the camera for video conferencing. The computer won't accept my phone or cameras.
I'm not much into weathered or graffitied stuff from Micro-trains... but I am curious of that yard caboose. Was that a Micro-trains release?
Just bought an old 70s Vollmer model building on that infamous auction site. It looked like it has potential
Here they are, the last two Metra Pullmans that I’m going to repaint into Metra’s bicycle cars. Might even be the last bilevels I buy for Metra. Unless Kato releases new road numbers again…fingers crossed Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yes. Both are Micro Trains releases. Boxcar was April 2022. Caboose was back in 2020. Caboose was designated to yard service and transfer service.
Most recent, is the Celebrate Freedom baggage car, for the Lowell Smith AFT. Also a nice silver rimmed/black lettering glass for the Rio Grande. As well as 6, 22 and 28 year Rio Grande service pins. With the option of obtaining several more years, from same person. Sent my list of pins I'm interested in. See what can be worked out! May need to get a bulletin board next, so I can display them, where thay can be seen and appreciated. Also have 2 more on the way, including a 35 year pin.
One of my scaletrains pre-orders finally made it in. 4 5750 and 2 4727 carbon black hoppers. I've only inspected 3 of the lot but so far nicely done! I can get nitpicky about small stuff but it seems they got everything on (lots of applied parts) and straight.
Ordered 3 days ago and received today. A Kato M2 Track and a breadboard with jumpers to try out projects. The new engines and cars I received yesterday (swap meet items). Left over track, the table is 2.5'x6' and my old SW1200 waiting for new couplers. I could install the extra sections but the 2'x4' table shown is rather wabbly. Also the side track has no power. Will have to see if I have info on how to get it to work if I wish. Switched would be nice. Now I can play.
As far as I can tell that siding is using Kato #6 turnouts. They are Power Routing. That siding will be powered if both turnout switches are set to the siding. Once a train is in there switch the turnouts back to the main and the siding will then be 'dead'. JMO * Fun little thing to do >>>> Turn off track power. Put that switcher that is in the siding now onto the main track right in front of where it is now...between the turnouts. Turn both turnouts to the siding. Power up the throttle, Watch as the train comes around the corner and shoots into and through the siding,,,missing the switcher that is setting on that short section of main track that is dead because rail power is going through the siding !
It looks like the only power feed is between the switches on the outer main/siding. If both switches are thrown to the inside siding, then the whole main loop (and inner siding) goes dead except for that stretch in between the switches. I would put the power feed on the main loop outside either switch. If only one switch is thrown, then both sidings and the main loop would be powered (though probably not adequately). I would use at least two power feeders, equally spaced around the main loop (but not between the switches.) Each track between the switches will be powered if at least one switch is thrown their way.
Jake... I just noticed that. You are correct ! On a side note : I ran my 32" HCD double main layout off just one feeder and never noticed any lose of power anywhere on the layout. That being said When I zoom in I see he has 3 short sections where the power lead comes in. He could always move that power feed over to the middle of the curve...with another on the other curve. If he needs to he can custom cut a straight piece to fit where he takes those 2 out. Lots of options. But yes...he needs to move the power lead on the outside of that siding area for sure.
Your are right. I removed the road crossing and moved the power connection over there. Now I can run on the oval or go into the siding. It even shows that in the instructions. Thanks now I will sleep better. And dream of improvements.
