Maybe not graffiti-free... but interesting nonetheless!
    Louisville&Wadley.JPG

I saw this in my Chutes-Ste-Ursule photos from April 2010, and then wondered, what's that LW reporting mark? Lakeland & Waterways? Nope...

I looked it up: Louisville & Wadley Railway! Created in 1872, the 10-mile feeder line bought up by the Central of Georgia in 1898, and sold off in 1961.

It's still classified as a railroad, even if it seems abandoned. There's an operational SW1 on the property but it's "landlocked" and not going anywhere. They lease cars now.

    Thanks!

I see a lot of different reporting marks on freight cars going through my photos and while watching the (very addictive) rail cams. Some get my curiosity up - especially the ones that don't end in "X". It's fun to look them up and get that "oh, so that's what that is!" feeling.

Even then, I see some oddballs like a spray-painted patch on one end of a TBOX car that was misspelled as TOBX...o_O:ROFLMAO:

There must have been an over stock of white paint. Have seen a good number of racks recently in clean white paint. Jan. 21, 2024

One train I see every time I go to Saginaw TX is a UP rock train. I'm fascinated with these cars and if I ever get a 3d printer, I'm thinking I will be making a train of these. Here's a sample. Jan. 20, 2024

@BNSF FAN Great examples. I love the colors.
@SP 9811 Gottal love pipe loades and this may be my first view of actual railroads vs models.
    Thanks! Guys.

Edit: I'll be using these pics as samples for my own loads.
I like the 'straps' which might be easier to model with thread than stakes.

I was delivering east of Barstow Ca. along the 40 and saw quite a few bright white autoracks on the BNSF. They were attention getters for sure.
