Nasty, gritty stuff. I applaud those who do the jobs, such as crawling to a fire box! Boxcab E50
I will ask tomorrow, I have to take the annual safety review class. How ever I haven't seen any thing that would be a show stopper. Regards, Kevin
Hi all, Here is the page for the latest photos. We now have the whole pressure vessel exposed, and can now start griding for testing. Looks like a new cab floor though. Regards, Kevin http://www.nmslrhs.org/images/photos/2-16-08/index.html
Thanks for the link, Kevin. It's great to see the progress you are making on this magnificent locomotive. Boy, do I want to see her run! :tb-cool:
Hey all, Here is the latest block of photos to go up on the club site. Have fun. http://www.nmslrhs.org/images/photos/3-2-08/index3.html Kevin
Great documentation. Has me thinking of the videos Goodheart did, when the Milw 261 was being restored. Anyone thinking about that idea? Any update of testing results? Boxcab E50
Well we are still griding the boiler, There are no obvious problems, but we need to get our form 4 measurements and calculations done to see where we are at. Regards, Kevin

Kevin, thanks for the link. Why are you guys installing "gauge bars" across the rails? Are you going to move the locomotive? I saw Clem's picture in the latest TRAINS steam special (great magazine). It is also nice to see you have some junior railfans involved in the work party there. Keep it up!
Junior??? Lol! I have been gainfully employed in/on/around a train in some form or fashion for over 1/3 of my life... I started when I was 21. I'll have 12 years in this June. I am trying to get my girls interested in trains. It is easy while they are this age... Yes, we move the locomotive from time to time to keep her loose and limber if for no other reason. The gage rods are a little security so that 2926 doesn't meet the dirt.
Clem, when I said "junior" I was referring to the children in the last group of photos on the 2926 site. One of them is your daughter, I believe, from the text under some of the pictures. Are you getting them "trained" properly to be railfans? You guys are doing some great work there, and as I have said several times in this thread, I hope I can get to see the 2926 run again. :tb-biggrin:
Fitz, it is all good. I was laughing about the junior post. No harm was taken. That is my oldest daughter. My girls love being around and seeing trains. I hate the Thomas stuff because it so backwards to the American practice. I also hate it because my girls have worn out the DVDs that they have of that "cheeky little engine." As for the 2926, all in due time. Know any millionaires? :tb-cool:
