Rob K reported over on the AZL forum he has them in hand and can be ordered at: http://www.ztrack.com/offers/bouchard/index.html Mar
Yes, we have the BNs in hand! I was planning on making announcement after I caught up on the back orders. I am working through them right now with shipping to begin in the next few days. I have all 4x road numbers of the BNs and SPs in stock and ready to ship. Test running is in progress. Rob
AZL's BN GP38-2s are now available! The BNs, like the SPs, are being sold to support the family of Don Bouchard. All four BN road numbers are available. We also now have all four road numbers of the SPs in stock. You can read more on Don and these locomotives at: http://www.americanzline.com/azl-news/don-bouchard-gp38-2/ If you have previously ordered BNs, Ztrack has shipped all back orders this week. They will be arriving in your mailboxes shortly. If you would like to order one of these great locomotives, please visit: http://www.ztrack.com/offers/bouchard/index.html Rob Kluz
It's a shame these couldn't be a week earlier so I could have mine here at the NTS. I'm still looking forward to getting mine, though.
I ran mine on regular DC last night, and am very happy with its slow speed performance. The shell is very nice, and the painting is very crisp. I am really happy with it. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
I had someone run my two BN engines for half an hour last Saturday. Well, after Don F. put the circuit board back in tight (under warranty work Rob!) in one of them. And I read on the AZL forum that the decoders for them should be out in a couple of weeks.
I took the shell off mine to peek inside , and seen that my board is seated properly, and there is a black piece of rubber under the board in the back. It keeps the board snug in place. Also new is there is some kind of insulating tape between the motor contacts and the frame. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
Maybe preparing for the DCC ? I talked to Rich of Digitrax at the N Scale Collectors end of June and he said they were writing manual. Last week, I contacted direct and they said the boards were in production. I questioned, they had protos at end of June and was told that it was just the manuals, now the boards are in production. Hope they don't have to write the manuals again :0
Jeff, slight correction: AZL had it's first prototype was at Denver, so early May. I know, I got to run it. Strange that we're hearing different things, but still way happy to see them show up whenever. -James
James, The unit I saw at the NZSC looked more like an engineering prototype than a manufacturing prototype, so you and Jeff could both be right. My source for the release date comes from a different side of Digitrax so it seems that they're all singing the same song. Mark
Here's a shot of the Digitrax DCC decoder for AZL from MRM's coverage of the NTS 2012 show in a Cody's Office segment. -JamesTraction
That is correct. Just need the massed produced ones in Early Sept. Still only 2 function so if you want ditch lights, add a separate front LED, tied to track power (or on board Blue and DC Common - harder to do).
Just got a note from Digitrax that the GP-38 decoder: DZ123Z0 (along with the Marklin units) is now available for shipping. Technical info and instructions are on-line, although the decoder selection page hasn't been updated yet. Mark
Mark, what Marklin units. Is Digitrax making a decoder for the Marklin chassis, and wich model it will fit.
