Hello everybody, today I got a mail from Todd from Small Wonder-Z . The GP38-2 in CP Rail version will be released in October this year. Best regards , Rolf from Germany
The new Digitrax decoder made for the AZL GP-30/38-2 does not fit the frame because of the slight curve up of the frame notch in the front. I carefully put a slight bevel on the bottom edge of the circuit board to match the curve up of the frame. http://www.trainboard.com/railimages/data/506/P9151679.JPG Then the board can go in far enough to fit tightly and the back to rest against the frame like it was supposed to do. http://www.trainboard.com/railimages/data/506/P9151680.JPG http://www.trainboard.com/railimages/data/506/P9151681.JPG Works great!
If you have tiny needle nose pliers, there is a hole in the board and you just use the standoff post and hole in the board to squeeze the decoder into the front frame post clips, and the back side of the board will snap into place, held by the rear standoff posts. There is a hole in the board for decoder removal too, where you just lift the rear of the board over the rear standoff posts and squeeze the board back out of the front frame post clips. I can't post pics because I left my loco at the train show.... wait! I'll use your photo:
