Made some time to run a couple of trains this morning. Been very busy with work before snow flies.....
Ran a few trains this morning, sorting out issues with the 12. Also did a bit of work on 1776, and then played with this guy. Which revealed a couple of minor issues. A lack of pickup on the engine drivers. Not a surprise, there. Also a dip in the tracks off the truss bridge, but worst of all, this bow in the track, Which is on the hidden trackage behind the main yard. Uggh. Had a good bit of fun with this power today also,
Well. it is busy here now! Too many projects in my work and home. But, occasional time must be made for the RR! Going to build a couple of special use cars, starting with these, And finally doing some more re-lettering, both the 11 and the B&O 2020, now NP&BH 10. And running trains as often as possible,
They are! I have built a few, and ended up with warpage due to the dissimilarities between brass and resin. That got resolved with brass rod in the bottom of the frame, which will get shown here on this build, when I get that far. Here's a couple more pics, I cleaned the flash off, sanded the deck and the back of the brass etching then ACC'd these together. Uf you look close you can see that the one in clamps is warped a bit. Fine N Scale makes tanks to mount to the flats also. This one is just done taking off the molded on handrails. And the make some gondola sided for the same flats.
Thanks. I figure it's not supposed to be fakey glitz and glam with no derails or oopses, so good ole 'raw' video from this ole fart!
It does flex, and them I JB Weld in a bit of brass bar stock to keep it straight. In the middle of the frame underneath. Pictures when I get to it. These are the same as the ones I had issues with last winter.
Nothing like coffee and trains on a Saturday morning! I like the firebox flicker on that 2-6-0. Nice touch.
And the only thing I had time for today, a bit of programming on the 11 and JB'ing the stiffener bars on the flat cars.
Not much time the last couple of weeks to spend, but found a few minutes to run a train here n there...
And today has been a busy model train day! The turkey is cooking and folk will be over soon, so here we go! Happy Thanksgiving to all!!
Thanks for watching! Being able to share is part of the fun, and part of the learning. Other video's teach or motivate me, so I figure it is a good idea to do the same!
Thanks for the videos. They are interesting and a learning experience. I had another holiday on the 23rd. It was my 74th birthday. The 10th time it landed on Thanksgiving. To help make it more interesting, my oldest brother was born on Christmas Day, the second was born on July 4th, then me followed by the fourth was worn on our parents Wedding Day. The rest of the 12 brothers were born willy nilly.
I agree. The reason to join a forum is to share and learn. When I start building my new layout in a few weeks I will post my progress in a thread with pictures and videos.
Shortround - "The rest of the 12 brothers were born willy nilly." So, 4 of you are "holiday" reminders, while the rest were just "whoopsies!!" Hopefully one is named Willy?? And thanks for the watching. I like doing 'raw,' unedited video's, because part of the fun is overcoming the oopses and issues of the layout, for which I sometimes get a criticism, but that is the other guys loss. joe - Seriously, these forums are a great place to share and encourage each other in this sometimes exasperating and always obsessing hobby! Looking forward to following along on your build!
