kurt, what issue is it in? I have a few photos without I-90, but I am wondering if this is one I have never seen.

My local "hobby shop" doesn't get that magazine :( that I have seen..... What is the Milw content? Worth finding a copy?

I'ts basically all electrified railroads, the only Milwaukee is the fold-out of Boxcab helpers on an eastbound frieght going over Renslow trestle, (and the Little Joes on the cover). No mention of the GN electrics over Stevens Pass though! [IMG] [IMG]

    Thanks Kurt!

    Ken,
One of the local hobby shops near me has a couple left. I could pick one up for you and send it your way! If you want one and there are still multiple copies there when I get there, PM me your shipping address.

    Greg-

Sounds like the Milw content is quite minimal. Probably not worth the $$. Or your time. But, many thanks for your very kind offer!

    So,
I was able to add some more ground dirt and ballast this weekend. Ended up having to buy multiple colors in order to simulate the real cohasset stuff. The real stuff was just way too magnetic. :(

However, what I mixed turned out ok I think. Anyhow here's your daily dose of weekend work photos. Almost done with laying the first coat of dirt on one whole section.

I am going to go over the whole thing in certain areas with another lighter color dirt to give it some variation. Also will lightly dust the rock molds with some fine fine dirt/dust stuff I got in eastern WA.

    Very nice!
How big is the actual layout? What a centerpiece for it, either way--large or small!

    Greg-

The ways you seem to find, in using lighting, are so realistic in results! Take it from me, folks, I know very well the site he's modeled. And it looks just like this!

    Thanks guys,
I was beginning to doubt my work, as some things were not going my way. However, I kept moving along! You guys help for emotional support!!!

Hemi - I have decided to just kind of go with the flow here on the construction of my layout. I want to do certain key scenes to scale while modeling a while route. So when finished it will be pretty big. However, other scenes I have considered not too important I will be either be cutting out or shortening to accommodate for space.

I hope to move on from this area I have posted continuously about here soon. I hope my post are not getting boring as they are pics of the same scene just with a little more scenery. I just have to finish this area because I am loaning it to the Kittitas county historical society for a RR exhibit that is being planned this summer.

So all in all, I hope to move on to another scene here within the next few months. I really would like to finish the renslow section by the end of June. School, work, and money slow me down.

The renslow section will be one of the many centerpieces of my layout. I know I already have ken drooling over the fact that I may build the Beverly Bridge to scale just like my renslow one. hahaha

Last hemi - let me know if you ever come out...I ride the old ROW with you!

I would love to have all of you come over!!!

Alright so I glued some more dirt down but also got a little bored of doing the same thing (spray glue, sprinkle dirt, spary glue, you get the picture...)

Anyhow so I did something I have been putting off for a while now and finally started it. I now officially have my Beverly Helpers. Units 137 and 156, number boards still need to be added. 137 and 157 are modeled to look like the real 157 and 137 during helper operations over the Saddles. They are mainly different because they do not have the billboard lettering on them.

These units were regulars that would help westbound trains up the Saddles, cut out at boylston, and follow the train down to Kittitas. Sometimes they would either hold and wait at Kittitas to help a eastbound up to Boylston or come directly back to Beverly until their next assignment.

In this case the crew has just finished getting something to eat at Kittitas and are on their return trip to Beverly, solo.

Even though it was late in the game, I sure miss those days! My scanner was always on. And we were in Eburg a lot. So would be listening to their chatter.

I posted this one in the n scale section after posting the helper here. But it also belongs here so here it is. Of course I've added a background with photoshop from a real photo of the area.

Here comes 5 Milw SD40-2's as they creep off the Renslow Trestle obeying the restricted speed of 25MPH.

Wow, that's neat! I followed the area you model from east of Othello, to west of Kitty. Sure is in the middle of nowhere!

As for the rest of the route, where did the MILW have to electrify on the coast div? I tried to follow it, but lost the ROW somewhere west of Ellensburg.
