I couldn't believe my luck today finding the D&H Shield here in DENVER, COLORADO so I thought I would start this special topic for those to also post more recent photographs of the D&H Shield.
Back on March 28, 2000 in Phoenix, AZ in once again had great luck and found PA #16 & #18 coming back from Mexico.
My favorite D&H cars are those from the EL. [ 09. August 2004, 20:18: Message edited by: Don Rickle ]
These are ALL great, Thanks for sharing!!!!!!! Let me know too if I can includes these within the DHVM. Even within the DHVM there is a section dedicated to Vehicles such as these.
Darren, feel free to use them on your site, all I ask is for the photo credit. Also, all these and those to follow were taken on May 19,1990. Some of the shots appear to have captured a slight down grade. I think that's the result of a friends' graduation party the night before.
The flag on the flag pole to the left is a tiny Canadian flag flying at half mast, this is right after the CP deal went through. [ 10. August 2004, 16:49: Message edited by: Don Rickle ]
Darren, I saw that D&H hopper you shot going westbound on BNSF thru Cheyenne today, and NO camera, of course!
I also figured the day I would see a D&H in Colorado I won't have a camera with me either; I was just lucky and still today can't believe it.
This boxcar is believed to be a D & H. Some of the markings are somewhat of a mystery, however. Here is the link to several detail shots. http://www.railimages.com/gallery/D-H-Boxcar This unit now resides at the Danbury Railway Museum. If you have any information about it, we would greatly appreciate it.
