Good luck, John! Remember, CSX slugs were made from GP30's, 35's, 38's and 40's! They were usually paired with a GP40-2 parent. The paint schemes did not always match, but most were in YN2 scheme.

Is GP38-2 #2667 still in Seaboard paint? I have a picture of it from Halloween of 2001. The last I heard (6 months ago) it was still in Seaboard. Last one?

According to the Wither's CSX book, this unit is still in SBD paint.

I've seen the railroads use spare knuckles as chocks.....sometimes a few big links of steel chain.

Wheel chocks... or attach to a unit with a handbrake.

Handbrakes are required equipment on locomotives, now, right?

Someone e-mailed me that 4601 (SBD) and 4617 (C&O unit) were still out there...

One of the members of an e-mail list I am on saw 4601 this week.

Seems to me that I heard/read somewhere/ sometime that ACL had ~550 diesels without handbrakes.

I had thought hand brakes were mandated safety appliances these days.
