Thanks, guys! Bob, it is a shame to see the B unit rotting away, but I sure can't afford to restore it, much less ship it to Golden so they can! Paul, thanks for the comments. I loved every minute of that op-session, and hope to do it again soon!
Thats really poor form letting that F unit rot away like that!Surely UP could donate it to RGM&HC? Imagin A&B F units rumbling around mmmmmm.
Update: I have far too much on my plate to head south to hit the Moffat line on the weekend of the 15th, so it'll have to be the 22nd. Good news for William! The 22nd turns out to be a pretty good weekend for this, in the first place.
We have a couple of patched GP40-2's working in Sparks Nevada currently. Over all, the paint looks ok but the dang yellow patch ruins it. I haven't seen any SD50's lately, how long ago did you catch the 9850? Greg
Big slobbering drops of drool!!! Those are some nice shots of the local!! I wish I could be there to take some photos of the trains! Paul
Excellent shots guys Makes me wish I was coming over this September instead of next September - oh well guess I'll have to drool over the pics I took while over there in Sep 2000 - which I will have to share once I get the net hooked up at home (on Inet cafe comp at the moment) Jason currently has the disk if he can find it...
This little gem was at Roseville Yd in Sep 2000 As to waiting until Sep next yr to go over couldn't wait that long so I'm flying over on the 27th Jul
There's a greeat shot of the 5305 in Royal Gorge paint in the thread "Excersion Line Locomotives". Nice to see an old Rio Grande unit is somewhat home rail colors!
An update: The 3011 and a matching COORS switcher are expected to be moved the Colorado Railroad property on Monday, Aug 2, IF I recall correctly. Need to double check the date first. I'm now planning on taking that day off and heading down with camera(s) and getting photos and video of the move(s)!!
Double checked the moving date earlier today. Aug 2 is the day of moving!! I WILL be out at the CRRM quite early, to get photos of the DRGW GP30 moving in, as well as the retired COORS SW-8. Photos to be added to my Rail Images gallery when I get the chance. Hopefully tomorrow night!
