My Scale Trains, Rivet Counter locomotive arrived....

First impressions - just looking at the locomotive, well it is amazing! I should not have waited this long to start getting them. A little pricey, but I will only need 6 or 7 to be the lead locomotives on the trains, because what's up front is all that matters!

I will be testing it a little later today and will also have photo's soon.

Received some details for my recent industrial builds.

These cooling towers which are in kit form have the pieces already painted. I'll be ditching and replacing the ladders and handrails using some from the brass frets pictured above. I actually already tore into the brass to get the stairs/walkway over the two tanks pictured on the left.

Well I pulled the trigger and ordered 2 more Scale Trains Rivet Counter locomotives because I was so impressed with the first one. Lucky for me they were then out of locomotives in my roads of interest, but more are on the way later this year possibly.

    Still working on the photos.......

The one negative issue with these is the oversize box they come in, not a jewel case like Kato or Atlas, but a substantially larger cardboard box.

I was in need of a bunch of coil cars. These are all the 42' so will hold out for the 48" two hood variety. Some flat with loads would be nice to, but all in good time.
    6 ScaleTrains
    4 Atlas

One thing I noticed about the scaletrains cars is they all did not sit flat. Tightening the truck screw seemed to center the truck seemed to solve the issue.

At least the freight cars have "normal" jewel cases.

Oh heck! Not going to get any then. Cardboard does not stand up very well for me. One reason I stopped getting ExactRail cars.

You would hate HO scale. Cardboard is all we get.

I do not hate any scale, I had some Lionel, but N Scale was more space efficient

I agree David. Each scale has its strengths and weaknesses but I like them all.

Received my All Scales Miniatures order. I just placed it Friday and it arrived today! Not bad for South Dakota to Indiana First Class mail. Got fire hydrants, picnic tables, trash cans and a dumpster. I have also ordered shipping skids and A/C units of different types. I really like their detail parts and it's the small things like these that really stand out. You may not notice them not being there, but you really notice them when they are. I have been spending a lot of time lately on the layout it's self and not getting to run anything, hopefully I can take a break soon and just enjoy some trains running.

What's nice to me is that things like the fire hygrants and dumpsters come moulded in color and really only need a shot of dul-cote to kill the shine. The a/c units are fantastic and I have installed them at just about every home and busness. When I switched from HO to (N)ormal scale I thought that I would have to give up a lot of the smaller details or make my own, which can be fun too, but these are really nice and scaled well, not clunky like even some of my HO details were when I first got into the hobby. I believe 3D printing was a great leap forward. By the way, I purchased the welding tanks in the past and even those came in color which is nice because paint sometimes (or at least my lack of skill applying it), covers detail or thickens the part. The picnic tables do need a shot of brown paint to look better but thinned down and applied with a brush it sill shows board and woodgrain detail really well. Next I may start an attempt at making water streams.
